Peanut Butter Cornflake Balls (or caramels, if you prefer).
There's only three simple ingredients and no baking involved, which means even I, Mr. Reaganite, could make them!
Here's the ingredients:
7 cups of corn flakes, lightly (very lightly) crushed in a bowl:
In a pot on the stove:
1 cup of granulated sugar:
1 cup of white corn syrup:
- Medium heat (we use 4 on our electric stove top)
Bring the sugar and syrup to a roiling boil...
AS SOON as the sugar and syrup begin to boil/carmalize, slide it off the heat and add your peanut butter and stir until it's completely mixed.
Then pour over your BIG bowl of cornflakes and stir together until everything is coated. Try not to crush the flakes too bad:
Next, using a teaspoon, form little balls of crunchy, sweet, goodness and deposit them on wax paper.
Let them cool for just a bit and then store in an air tight container as they will get hard if left out overnight.
Finally, enjoy! I know we do when they're made.
